Toxicity is a major health concern in modern times. Much of what we eat and often the air we breathe is far less than pure. Fortunately, our bodies are designed with an extraordinarily effective sewer processing plant called the liver. The liver can process most toxins we intake. After years and years, it can and does get tired. At this point, toxins store primarily in liver cells and muscle cells. When toxins store in muscle cells, muscles, don't perform as well. Unless your toxicity is considerable, you won't necessarily feel it. If you do, you will feel achey. If you injure yourself, creating a musculoskeletal condition, the toxicity will impede the healing of the soft tissue injury and must be addressed. When the toxicity is congesting the liver, various digestive and metabolic processes begin functioning less efficiently. Fat digestion problems begin. The gall bladder activity of storage and release of bile is stifled if the liver cannot produce sufficient bile. Varous symptoms occur including oily or dry skin, sluggishness, fatigue, fatigue after eating. Sugar metabolism is affected also. Eating sweets will deplete rather than give you energy. If the toxicity is left alone, untreated, diabetes mellitis can be a result. In conclusion, toxicity is a serious situation and needs to be addressed. Adequate quality water consumption is recommended - up to 1/2 of your weight in ounces. (If you wigh 150 lbs., drink up to 75 oz. of water per day). Also eat large quantities of fresh fruits and vegetables. Certain herbs will also enhance detoxification. Ask your doctor about this. In combination with your chiropractic program, be on a regular exercise program to keep your muscles and joints active and mobile. Is your body toxic? |
